| Got that synching feeling? Read my lips... Click for the full article
You've got to read the article above and laugh. A notice that your performance is a recording? Yeah, I just see all sorts of artists loving up to that idea. (Can't you just hear the sarcasm?)
Your thoughts?
BTW, why does Ashly Simpson come to mind when I read that? | There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you. - Will Rogers |

| Ok, maybe the Ashly Simpson remark was a little out of line... not really.
I know some people don't care, but does anybody find it just a little absurd that it may be a requirement to let people know that you are deceiving them? | There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you. - Will Rogers

| Y'know, I am getting a little tired of people recommending that we tell everyone about everything, just for our protection. I'm fine with it if it is food.I think that is just common sense. But EVERYTHING seems to have warning labels. And many of them are just plain stupid.
As far as live performances are concerned, yes, I believe that it is deceitful to lipsynch to tracks. To give the illusion that your a flawless performer when you may or may not be, is at best insecure, at worst, arrogant.People pay to see you perform, and they do expect something well done. But I think people look for the magic of the performance, not perfection. To lipsynch robs the audience of both.
Having said that, I still think that it would be a horrible idea to make disclaimers about a certain performance, just because someone has a touchy-feely-I-want-to-protect-everyone emotional response.People get what they pay for.Anyone who thinks that alot of these pop stars who sing perfectly while dancing around on stage, with no backing band in sight, are real live performances, want to live in that fantasy world. They deserve what they get.If it satisfies thier need to be entertained, well, then, they got what they paid for.
But I do not see the need for "Big Brother" to come around and "protect" me from these "evil doers." That's just nonsense. | "C'mon Dave, Gimme a break!"
