T O P I C R E V I E W | AnonJr | Posted - 08 Jan 2007 : 20:51:35 Cruising the web for something completely different, I came across some rather good resources for the cash-challenged bible scholar.
First is a web-based resource I've come to love over the last year or so: http://www.biblegateway.com/ Aside from a whole bunch of translations, they have quite a few other references, concordances, etc.
If you're looking for a desktop program I came across two options (and at this point I really can't say if one is better than the other...) you can use "The SWORD Project" or "e-Sword". Just be aware that for various copyright reasons neither has the NIV version available for download... but both have a fairly deep library of other translations and concordances and references and ... you get the idea.
Also, http://www.christianfreeware.org/ has compiled a bunch of free and open-source programs that may be of use for families, churches, etc. I will caution that I know (being very familiar with some of the projects they package) I know that they do not have the most current version of all the software there... just so you know. For the bandwidth-impaired they will ship you a CD with all the software for something like USD$1.00. Not too bad.
Just a few resources that I'd found that may be of use to y'all. | 3 L A T E S T R E P L I E S (Newest First) | jim@souljoyrecords | Posted - 09 Jan 2007 : 12:32:24 Been there got it...thanks for the info...ROCK ON BABY | AnonJr | Posted - 09 Jan 2007 : 06:23:55 Cool. | Shredhead | Posted - 09 Jan 2007 : 00:50:52 Thanks Anon , I use the gateway already .
